ABOUT ME
In 1997, owner Jan Johnpier, was asked to create a website for an organization. In preparation, Jan went and took a few classes, including an introductory course on creating a web page using HTML. HTML, stands for Hypertext Markup Language, and is the foundation of website development. HTML is used to format text, create hyperlinks, tables, lists, forms, display images, and much more. This sparked a passion for web design and Jan decided to enroll into a college program in which she received a degree in Computer Science.
Since, Jan has designed websites for many organizations and continues to study the ever- evolving field of web design. She has several certifications including HTML, CSS, and SEO. In 2011, Jan decided to go public with her services, resulting in the establishment of JJ Web Designs, which has since been renamed to Lake Ontario Design. Originally located in the lake front community of Wilson, NY, Lake Ontario Design is now located in Ransomville, NY, and offers website design services to organizations, small businesses, and individuals throughout Niagara County and beyond.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Jan has been designing and working with websites since 1997. She has designed and maintains sites for many organizations including DAR, NSDOAF, Clan Sinclair USA and Canada, and NSRailroad. In addition to organizations, she has developed websites for campaigns, community events, businesses, and individuals.
EDUCATION & SKILLS
Jan is a graduate of Lewiston-Porter High School and Niagara Orleans Vocational Center. She earned a NY State license in Cosmetology, but later, earned a degree in Computer Science from Penn Foster College in which she graduated on the Dean's List for outstanding achievements. Additionally, Jan holds an advanced diploma in Public Relations, and is a Notary Public and Constitutional Officer of the State of NY, commissioned for Niagara County. She holds several web certifications including HTML, CSS, and SEO. She is a member of the International Webmasters Association, the HTML Writers Guild and is an official Wix Partner.
